2009 COAI Convention
First off, the convention will be held from April 21, 2009 to April 26, 2009. But we would
like to urge everyone that can to come to the convention site on Saturday, April 18th, to
be able to witness the
third largest fireworks show in the world and the fifth largest
air show in the nation.
This show is put on by the Kentucky Derby Festival and is free
to the public. For more information on these visit
www.KDF.org and
www.thunderoverlouisville.org

Inky Clowns are asking for you to submit a clown tip or idea to be shared in the
convention program book. Got a time-saving tip or idea? Got a makeup or skit tip that
you want to share? Send your ideas to our Promotion Chairperson (
Neal Oplinger ) to
be included in the program book and then look for your tip when you get here.

We offer an online and a payment plan using PayPal for those wishing to use such a
service. It will be a great service for those that wait until the last minute to register and
want to beat a deadline before a price increase. Remember that the registrations fees
are:
until August 31, 2008 - ------------------------ $155.00
September 1, 2008 to January 31, 2009 - $165.00      Junior Joeys are to deduct $25
February 1 to March 31, 2009 --------------- $175.00    Non-clown attendees deduct $25
April 1 to April 22, 2009 ----------------------- $185.00
Daily tickets are $40 (does not include parties)
Separate
dinner buffet theme party and Awards Banquet tickets $35 each.

Registration includes competition (if COAI member), classes, jam sessions,
workshops, access to dealer's room and access to both the
dinner buffet theme party
and the Awards Banquet.

You will need to submit a separate registration for each person.
There is a place for you to go for a printable registration form.
(Find it
on the Registration Page.)

We have a page where people who have a hotel room and need, or want, roommates
-or- those who are coming and looking to hook up with someone that has a room to
share can find each other. People wanting to post information there will need to contact
the webmaster,
Frank Bunton

InKy Clowns will be having a contest for the alley with the most members
there. Now, for those alleys that are small (some only have 5 members) there
will be a contest for you too. You see, we will be giving out 2 (yes, TWO)
trophies. One will be for the alley with the most members present and the other
trophy will be for the alley with THE LARGEST PERCENTAGE OF MEMBERS
PRESENT. What does that mean? If your alley only has 5 members and 2 are at
the convention then you have 40% there, while an alley with a large
membership (say 25) that has 5 people there only has 25% present! In the
event that there is a tie for either trophy, the alley that traveled the furthest
(from alley contact/mailing address) will win.

For those flying in and out of the convention, here are a couple of web sites that might
prove valuable. The first is the local airport. It is the Standiford Field International
Airport (SDF) in Louisville that you need to fly into and if you wish to check it out you will
need to go to
Louisville airport. The other site is for those of you who might wish to rent
a car after arriving. Our Promotions Chairperson is suggesting that you visit
Enterprise
Car Rental.

There is a page to find out who we will be having and what services/wares they will
offer. We also have a page for listing the lecturers and a  page for the
classes with a
summary of the class.

Of course there is a page with the
hotel information including their web site. I'm hoping
that from their page that you will be able to make your reservations.

Isn't that great?
Register for hotel room, convention and pay for convention registration
all online!

We are also posting a schedule of events which, of course, will be subject to change.
